Trevor Lawrence is making Tim Tebow look good during Jacksonville Jaguars training camp.

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence is building a great rapport with converted tight end Tim Tebow during training camp.

Lawrence is perhaps the biggest reason why longtime college head coach Urban Meyer took the Jacksonville job. We all know the only reason Tebow is trying to make a position switch in his mid-30s is because his former college coach at Florida is running the ship down in Duval County. It is absurdly early, but the growing Lawrence-to-Tebow connection is turning heads at Jaguars camp.

Look for TIAA Bank Field to erupt like a dang cocktail party when Lawrence finds Tebow for six.

There are so many reasons why the Jaguars took Lawrence No. 1 overall this past spring. Jacksonville has a chance to not only have its best quarterback since Mark Brunell, but a close approximation to his boyhood idol and noted Jaguars killer Peyton Manning. Lawrence possesses the talent necessary to lead the Jaguars to their first ever trip to the Super Bowl as a franchise.

Blessed with the glorious presence of Jacksonville native, Florida Gators legend and Meyer disciple Tebow, there is no way Lawrence will fail along the Banks of the St. Johns River in Black and Teal. Jacksonville should be markedly better than it was a year ago. If Lawrence is as good as we think and Tebow is more than an offseason gimmick, maybe the Jaguars can push for a winning record?
