3 prospects the Cavaliers have to avoid in the NBA Draft

2. The Cavaliers have better options than Jalen Suggs
Suggs is another fantastic prospect whose likely to be far more valuable to some team other than the Cavs. He’s an excellent defender and competitor but there are questions marks about his ceiling as a primary creator and exactly how good he’ll be as a spot-up and pull-up shooter. In an ideal world, Suggs is probably sharing ball-handling responsibilities with his backcourt partner and creating advantages with his smart play off-the-ball, attacking against bent defenses and finding open space.
That sounds like a decent fit next to Darius Garland (especially if Suggs can defend 2s full time) but the Cavaliers already have someone like that in Collin Sexton. And even if the goal is to trade Sexton and consider Suggs in the name of a chemistry upgrade, why not just take Jalen Green and swing for a bigger upside and more primary scoring chops? Again, Suggs is going to be a very good NBA player. There are just better options for the Cavaliers.
