Trevor Lawrence gets a standing ovation from Jacksonville Jaguars fans during training camp.
Trevor Lawrence has yet to throw a pass for the Jacksonville Jaguars in an NFL game, but he is already a fan favorite down in Duval County.
Jacksonville used the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on the former Clemson star quarterback. Lawrence hopes to be the franchise savior along the Banks of the St. Johns River. Though Jacksonville is not expected to make the NFL playoffs this year, the Jaguars might be able to hover around .500 if Lawrence lives up to the hype in year one. Duval is so amped up right now.
Here are Jaguars fans giving him a standing ovation ahead of training camp practice Thursday.

Lawrence was the most highly touted quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck coming out of Stanford nearly a decade ago. He has the potential to be as good if not better than his boyhood idol Peyton Manning. Should Lawrence be the Gen-Z version of John Elway, there will be many Super Bowl parades happening down in North Florida in the next decade-plus. He is that talented.
Ultimately, what the NFL does a better job than just about any professional sports league is sell hope. Jacksonville may be riding a league-worst 15-game losing streak, but the future is incredibly bright with Lawrence at quarterback. If he can be half as good as what football fans think he will be, Jacksonville will not have to worry about drafting another quarterback for a decade or more.
It is still very early in the process, but Jaguars fans are absolutely in love with the new quarterback.
