Anthony Rizzo is still wearing his Cubs batting gloves in first at bat with Yankees

Even though he is with the New York Yankees, Anthony Rizzo is still wearing his Chicago Cubs batting gloves.
The Chicago Cubs did not mess around when it came to selling at the trade deadline. The first big domino to fall was first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who was traded to the New York Yankees on Thursday. Even though he is no longer in the Windy City, he still keeps a part of the Cubs with him.
Rizzo made his Yankees debut on Friday in a road game against the Miami Marlins, and fans noticed that the first baseman was still wearing his Chicago-themed batting gloves in his first plate appearance.

That noise you heard in the distance was Cubs fans crying realizing that Rizzo was wearing the same gloves with the Yankees as he did with the Cubs.
Rizzo’s first official at-bat with the Yankees saw him draw a walk on six pitches against Marlins right-hander Zach Thompson. The first baseman would later ground out in his second at-bat in the third inning.
Joey Gallo, former Texas Rangers outfielder, was also making his debut with the Yankees on Friday night in Miami.
While it is weird seeing Rizzo don the Yankees’ navy blue and grey uniforms, Cubs fans will no doubt be cheering him on from the Windy City.
