Patrick Mahomes knows what it takes to bring a title to Kansas City and now he’s hopeful Sporting KC will be able to do the same. 

When news broke last month that Patrick Mahomes was becoming part owner of Sporting KC, MLS fans all over the country were losing their minds. Mahomes means so much to Kansas City, as he helped the Chiefs win the Super Bowl two seasons ago.

Now, Mahomes is not only ready to try and get the job done again this winter, but he also has high hopes for his new favorite soccer team. In a video message to fans, Mahomes said he’s ready for Sporting KC to push for an MLS Cup.

That’s simply got to fire fans up. Mahomes has incredible ambition and it’s not limited to his work with the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s ready to help out Sporting KC in any way he can possibly think of. The squad is in the middle of a fantastic year, as they’re currently in second place of the Western Conference standings with 30 points.

Later this year, KC figures to push the Seattle Sounders for a potential trip to the final. Should those two teams meet in the playoffs, it’d be one hell of a battle. For Mahomes, he’s ready to see Sporting KC go on a deep run and try and bring more glory back to the city. It should be a fun ride the rest of the season.
