Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons sent out a cryptic Instagram post on Monday night.

NBA free agency negotiations officially began on Monday night, and the reported agreements trickled in consistently. But when it comes to the trading block, all eyes are on the Philadelphia 76ers and guard Ben Simmons, who has been subject to rumors ever since the team’s second-round playoff elimination.

On Monday night, Simmons sent out a cryptic Instagram post, which featured the point-forward standing next to a Ferrari, and the message was a simple hourglass emoji.

76ers guard Ben Simmons sends out cryptic Instagram message

Simmons entered the trade block due to a dreadful performance throughout the playoffs, specifically Philadelphia’s second-round series against the Atlanta Hawks. From missing free throws to showing apprehension on making easy shots, Simmons was heavily ridiculed for his performance.

Even though the Sixers have been listening to teams calling about Simmons’ services, the front office has let those organizations know that acquiring him will not come cheap. According to David Aldridge of The Athletic, the 76ers are asking for four first-round draft picks (either direct or pick swaps) and an All-Star level player (in most scenarios) at minimum. To make the ask even more massive, Simmons is only in the second season of his five-year, $177.2 million contract.

You can take a look at the reported trade demands the 76ers made for both the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers in the respective links. They are doozies.

The 76ers obviously want to part ways with a young star like Simmons, but no team is caving into their lofty demands. The hourglass emoji from Simmons is accurate, because it could take countless hours to find out whether the 76ers can find a taker or opt to keep him for at least another season.
