2. Avery Bradley

The end of Avery Bradley’s Lakers tenure came quicker than expected. During the 2019-20 pandemic-disrupted season, Bradley opted out of playing during the NBA restart in the Orlando bubble due to his son, Liam, who had a history of respiratory illnesses. The Lakers won the title without him, and after the season, Bradley opted out of the final $5 million of his contract to become a free agent before ultimately signing with the Miami Heat. He was traded in March to the Houston Rockets, who did not pick up his team option for the upcoming season.

That means Bradley is up for grabs, but his value is hard to peg since it’s been over a year since we’ve seen him play meaningful basketball. He suited up in just 10 games for the Heat last season, averaging 8.5 points in 21.1 minutes per game, and he only played 17 games for the tanking Rockets, averaging 5.2 points in 23 minutes per game on abysmal .314/.270/.833 shooting splits. He did shoot 47 percent from the floor and 42.1 percent from long range in his brief Miami stint, but again, that was a tiny sample size, and his season was disrupted by a myriad of leg, knee and calf injuries, not to mention COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

It seems like Bradley has been around the league for awhile now, and his value feels pretty low, but he’s still only 30, and just over a year ago, he was an instrumental part of the Lakers’ top-notch defense and eventual title-winning roster. If the offers aren’t flowing in right now, Bradley could do a lot worse than a Lakers reunion, where his 3-and-D skill-set would be a welcome addition.
