Look: Carmelo Anthony confirms signing with Lakers, teaming up with LeBron james

Veteran small forward Carmelo Anthony just announced on social media that he’ll be suiting up for the Los Angeles Lakers next season. 

The Los Angeles Lakers are loading up for another NBA Finals run and things just got even more intriguing on Tuesday. Veteran small forward Carmelo Anthony, who continues to make plays despite being 37 years old, is ready to join the Lake Show.

On Tuesday, Anthony took to Twitter to announce that he’ll indeed be playing for Los Angeles next season. This news comes shortly after Russell Westbrook was traded by the Wizards to the Lakers, plus Dwight Howard and Trevor Ariza also joining the fold. With Anthony headed to town as well, this team is having quite the offseason.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Anthony is headed to the Lakers on a one-year deal. with Anthony on the back-end of his incredible career, this move shows you just how serious he is in trying to win a ring before he ends up retiring.

Anthony first debuted in the NBA back in 2003 for the Denver Nuggets. He then made his way to the New York Knicks and is a local legend across the city. After that, Anthony has suited up for the Thunders, Rockets and Trail Blazers.

This past season for Portland, Anthony averaged 24.5 minutes per contest, scoring 13.5 points a night. For the Lakers, he’ll look to keep drilling big shots when his number is called. LA has surely been busy making moves, and this Anthony deal should hype up fans.

Again, he may be 37 years old, but Anthony is still more than capable of going off on any given night. He could prove to be a major addition for the Lakers and James once the postseason arrives next spring.
