New York Mets shortstop Javier Baez was heated after a pop-out during Tuesday’s game against the Miami Marlins.

The New York Mets have not enjoyed the greatest success following the MLB trade deadline, which saw them land Chicago Cubs shortstop Javy Baez. Entering Tuesday night’s game against the Miami Marlins, the Mets have lost four of their last five games.

In the top of the eighth inning, Baez stepped up to the plate with the Mets trailing the Marlins 4-3. After popping out, Baez was heated and began jawing at someone across the field. He was so mad, that he had to be separated by players on both the Mets and Marlins.

As it turns out, Baez was not the only member of the Mets to be angry during Tuesday evening’s game. Manager Luis Rojas was seen arguing balls and strikes to the home plate umpire in the middle of the seventh inning. After several warnings, the ump ejected Rojas from the contest altogether.

The Mets have now lost five of their last six games after falling by the score of 5-4. As a result of their recent woes, the rival Philadelphia Phillies are now just 1.5 games behind them in the NL East standings.

The Atlanta Braves, as well, are within striking distance. New York has plenty to worry about, and the lineup leaves much to be desired offensively.
