The gold medal match for the women’s beach volleyball tournament will give April Ross and Alix Klineman the chance to taste Olympic gold for the first time.

The time has come for the final match of the women’s beach volleyball tournament at the 2021 Olympics.

American duo April Ross and Alix Klineman punched their ticket to the gold medal match in Tokyo with a victory over Switzerland. Their opponents, the Australians, bested the Lavian pair to meet them.

Ross has been here before. She made the gold medal match with teammate Jennifer Kessy at the 2012 Olympics in London. However, she had to settle for silver. She came back at the 2016 Olympics in Rio with a bronze medal alongside Kerri Walsh Jennings. Now 39 years old, a second chance at gold is in front of her.

Klineman has been Ross’s teammate since 2018. This is the 31-year-old’s first run at the Olympics.
