The Mets could lose both Noah Syndergaard and Jeurys Familia

Thor hasn’t pitched since 2019, so it would be wise of the Mets to try and bring him back on a short-term deal. Still, if it comes down to choosing one of Syndergaard or Marcus Stroman, the latter has far more recent success, pitching to a sub-3 ERA so far this season.

Familia, meanwhile, has a near-4 ERA at the back end of the Mets bullpen. In a contract year, Familia has done little to truly stand out and show he’s deserving of another chance in Queens, or a major contract elsewhere.

Odds are, all three of Stroman, Syndergaard and Familia won’t be back next season. It’s a tough pill to swallow for a team that used to be so pitching-dominant.
