Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup had a pretty brutal drop in Friday’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.
The preseason may have started for a majority of teams in the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys are participating in their second on Friday night. As the Cowboys took on the Arizona Cardinals, football fans may have seen the worst dropped pass of the entire preseason thus far.
In the first quarter, quarterback Garrett Gilbert found a wide open Michael Gallup down the middle of the field. Gilbert hit Gallup right in the hands, and the wideout dropped it.

Cowboys: Michael Gallup totally redeemed himself shortly afterwards
While the Cowboys failed to convert on that third-and-10 play, head coach Mike McCarthy decided to go for it on fourth-down. Gallup totally redeemed himself, as he recorded a 12-yard reception to give Dallas the first down.
Cowboys WR Michael Gallup with a third-and-10 drop over middle of field. Giving it's the preseason and team doesn't have a kicker (punter Hunter Niswander doing best imitation), Mike McCarthy goes for it. And Gallup converts with 12-yard catch.

Even though Gallup’s drop was egregious, he ended up getting the first down regardless. And he’s thanking his lucky stars he did, as he’s playing in a contract season. Every drop matters, even in the preseason. You can bet we’ll see that film on Hard Knocks next week.
