Texans lose two starting offensive linemen to COVID-19 list
By John Buhler
The Houston Texans are down two starting of their offensive linemen because of COVID-19.
The Houston Texans are dealing with a bit of a COVID-19 outbreak internally, as three of their offensive linemen have been placed on the COVID-19 list.
The three members of their team going on the COVID-19 list are Tytus Howard, Roderick Johnson and Laremy Tunsil. While only one was deemed to have a positive test, the other two were deemed to be close contacts. Houston begins its preseason slate with a road date at the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. So go ahead and insert your joke about Tunsil wearing a face mask.
This is the last thing a team like the Texans would want to have happen before the games start.
Houston Texans lose two starting offensive linemen before preseason game
No doubt about it. This is going to be a hard and frustrating year for the Texans. Even if many of the cast of characters from last season are gone, wins will be hard to come by for this downtrodden AFC South franchise. Houston feels like a lock to be picking in the top five next spring, and one would think the Texans are favored to have the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Again, this is only a meaningless preseason game, but this is quite the tone-setter for the Texans and first-year head coach David Culley. If Houston plays hard under him, then we will tip our cap to this underwhelming franchise for making the most of it. Should it be more of the same out of Houston, there may not be a tougher watch throughout the entire NFL. This year could be brutal.
The Texans will surely win a game or two this season, but man, will they be difficult to watch.
