Joshua Buatsi continued to impress with a round 11 TKO of Ricards Bolotniks in the Matchroom Fight Camp main event from Brentwood, Essex, U.K.

Great Britain’s light heavyweight dynamo continued his impressive winning streak with a round 11 TKO of Latvia’s Ricards Bolotniks in the Aug. 14 Matchroom Fight Camp main event.

Buatsi (15-0, 13 KOs) stayed undefeated. The 26-year-old 2016 Olympic bronze medalist burst onto the scene in 2017 after his medal run in the Olympics the year prior. Buatsi boasts punching power in both hands, and he demonstrated that fact against Bolotniks.

Bolotniks (18-6-1, 8 KOs), 32, showed a lot of heart and a stout chin, but he took too many power shots from Buatsi. Buatsi dropped Bolotniks early in round 6 with a crushing left hook. Bolotniks beat the count.

Ricards Bolotniks almost made it to the finish line against Joshua Buatsi but caught in round 11 with the finishing blow

Buatsi tried to end things right there and threw everything he had at Bolotniks, but Bolotniks survived the round. Buatsi punched himself out a bit and allowed Bolotniks to have a solid round 7 and 8.

Buatsi helped Bolotniks when he lost a point in round 8 for a low blow. He was warned twice previously for low blows, and the referee took the point. It helped Bolotniks at the moment, but Buatsi didn’t leave the fight in the judges’ hands.

In round 10, Buatsi caught Bolotniks with an overhand right on the cheek that he never saw coming. Bolotnik’s crumbled to the canvas and stared into space in a concussed stupor. He didn’t try to get to his feet, and the referee didn’t bother starting the count and called the fight immediately, giving Buatisi the round 11 TKO victory.

This is Buatsi’s 10th stoppage in a row. He furthers his career with a win in a WBA title eliminator. The current WBA light heavyweight champion is Dmitry Bivol. A Bivol vs. Buatsi title fight would be highly competitive and provide fight fans with an entertaining boxing bout.
