Patrick Surtain Jr. puts NFL on notice with pick-6 in debut (Video)

Patrick Surtain Jr. put Jake Browning on a poster in his Denver Broncos preseason debut.
Denver Broncos fans are quickly learning what Alabama football fans have known for a while that cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. is an unbelievable playmaker in the defensive backfield.
During his preseason debut, Surtain picked off an errant Jake Browning throw and took it to the house to further silence the Minnesota Vikings home crowd. While many people in Broncos Country questioned why the team did not take a quarterback with the No. 9 overall pick, seeing Surtain provide them with immediate returns on their draft investment makes that a moot point.
Denver is hoping that Surtain becomes the defensive back cornerstone in their new No Fly Zone.

Though Denver has the least stability at the quarterback position of any team in the AFC West presently, Surtain has a great chance to flourish playing in Vic Fangio’s Broncos defense. He played for defensive-minded head coach Nick Saban in college. While he typically puts his secondary players in positions to succeed, keep in mind that Surtain has a deep NFL pedigree on his side, too.
If he can be half as good as his Pro Bowl namesake father was with the Miami Dolphins, Surtain is about to become a fan favorite in Colorado. As long as Drew Lock, or even Teddy Bridgewater, plays well in Pat Shurmur’s offense, Denver has a chance to be a surprising wild card team in the AFC this year. All the while, Surtain certainly looks like the next defensive star for the Broncos.
The only way this pick-six would have been better is if it happened in a game that counted.
