Dansby Swanson — previously one of the weakest links in the Braves everyday lineup — has gotten red-hot when the team needs him most.
Swanson has a 1.044 OPS in his last 37 games dating back to July 3. He now has 24 home runs on the season and has owned the Washington Nationals this weekend.
As a result, the Braves are tied for first place in the NL East with the Philadelphia Phillies, making some noise in a division they won fairly easily last season. Atlanta finished the season one game away from winning the World Series, blowing a 3-1 lead to the eventual champion Los Angeles Dodgers in painful fashion.
Swanson has four homer in this three-game series with the Nationals. He went deep again on Sunday.

Atlanta Braves fans going wild over Dansby Swanson’s latest tear
Braves fans have been waiting all season for this team to play up to its potential. Rather than constantly hovering around .500, the Braves are finally starting to break out of their season-long slump.
Even without Ronald Acuña, the likes of Swanson, Freddie Freeman and Co. are carrying this team to the finish line.

IS THERE A HOTTER SS IN BASEBALL THAN DANSBY SWANSON
— GSN (@GASportsNow) August 15, 2021
Dansby Swanson is on some kind of tear. 2-run blast to center makes it 3-0 Braves, that's his 4th of this series.

Dansby Swanson could possibly be the greatest Braves SS of all time but some cornball is going to say Rafael Furcal or something dumb like that

I would like to admit I was wrong about Dansby Swanson

Dansby Swanson is simply on another level recently. Goodness gracious.

Dansby Swanson homers. What else is new?
— Gabe Burns (@GabeBurnsAJC) August 15, 2021
Good morning to Dansby Swanson who over the last calendar year (158 games) has hit 31 homers, has a 113 wRC+, and has been worth 4.2 wins.

Swanson has plenty of Braves fans deleting old tweets, or outright admitting they were wrong about him as a young shortstop. And not to mention, he’s still maintaining his status as a solid defender at the position.
