Here is how the preseason AP Top 25 Poll looks ahead of the 2021 college football season.

With the 2021 college football season rapidly approaching, let’s take a look at which teams cracked the preseason AP Top 25 Poll.

The USA Today Coaches Poll was released last week. The top five in the Coaches Poll were as follows: Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Georgia. While one can argue about the order, most college football fans have those five programs situated in the top five. However, the AP Poll is what we lean on before the College Football Playoff rankings come out later on in the season.

Here is what the preseason AP Top 25 Poll looked like after it was released at 12:00 p.m. ET.

The teams ranked No. 16 to 20 are LSU, Indiana, Iowa, Penn State and Washington.

Rounding out the top 25 are Texas, Coastal Carolina, Louisiana, Utah and Arizona State. Overall, you can see a few interesting things from these rankings. Cincinnati coming in at No. 8 is the highest ranked Group of Five team.
