Georgia quarterback JT Daniels is the latest player to ink a NIL deal, doing so with popular Athens-based chain restaurant Zaxby’s

Come this fall, Georgia quarterback JT Daniels is going to be ready to do whatever is possible to help the Bulldogs not only win the SEC but also make a push for a national title. While all of his focus will be on reaching those goals, he’s got a spiffy new endorsement to be proud of.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Daniels has reached a NIL deal with Zaxby’s, the famous fast food restaurant which was founded in Athens.

“Zaxby’s has been my choice of food since coming down here to Georgia. I mean, there really is no comparison, Daniels said in a press release. “I get asked all the time what my favorite food is. It is Zaxby’s. Hands down,” says Daniels, a native of Irvine, Calif. “To me, Zaxby’s provides something I already enjoy, plus I can share it with my teammates and bring meals to ESP, an organization we both have already supported. This is the type of brand partner I am excited to have.”

JT Daniels has landed a new NIL deal with Zaxby’s

“We’re thrilled to partner with Heisman hopeful quarterback J.T. Daniels from the University of Georgia for the upcoming season,” Zaxby’s CMO Joel Bulger said in a release. “His leadership qualities on and off the field are remarkable and something that aligns well with our brand. We welcome J.T. to Team Zaxby’s, a brand that has strong ties with UGA and deep roots here in Athens.”

As you can see from Bulger’s statement, Zaxby’s could not be more fired up to welcome Daniels to their family. The timing is great for them too, as Daniels is poised to have a monster season for Kirby Smart in 2021.

The Bulldogs will have quite the uphill climb to try and stun Alabama this season, though. Entering the new campaign, Georgia has checked in at No. 5 on the AP’s Preseason Top 25. Alabama is No. 1, while Oklahoma, Clemson and Ohio State are also in the Top 5.

The pressure is on for Daniels. Only time will tell if he’ll help get Georgia over the hump in the coming months.
