Real Madrid ready to go after Erling Haaland if they don’t land Kylian Mbappe
With Real Madrid growing increasingly frustrated with the Kylian Mbappe talks, the club could look to try and land Kylian Mbappe instead.
Real Madrid and manager Carlo Ancelotti appear ready to make a splash this summer transfer window regardless if Paris Saint-Germain sells them Kylian Mbappe or not. Could the La Liga giants turn their attention elsewhere for a stud striker? That appears to be the case.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, Real Madrid is ready to make a splash move and go after Erling Haaland before the transfer window closes in the next couple of weeks. This of course depends on whether or not PSG makes life a little easier with Mbappe.
Erling Haaland is now a big target for Real Madrid this summer
Madrid has been eyeing Mbappe for a while now and reports have said the Frenchman has dreamed of playing for the La Liga side as well. However, PSG doesn’t appear ready to let him go before the window closes, especially after making the blockbuster move to sign Lionel Messi
With Messi now in Paris from Barcelona, PSG is considered one of the favorites to win the Champions League this season. PSG lost in the final two years ago and made it to the semifinals last season. They’ve been so close to winning it all, but haven’t made it all the way.
Now, with Messi also joining an attack that features Mbappe and Neymar Jr., PSG fans know this could be a year to remember. That could mean Real Madrid must go in a different direction to land a world-class forward.
While Borussia Dortmund has said they want to keep Haaland this year, if Madrid puts an unreal offer on the table, the German team may have no choice but to accept. The expectation is that Haaland will end up suiting for a new team eventually. If Madrid has its way, that could happen before the end of the month.
