Braves closing in on history with another road win
The Atlanta Braves are playing their best baseball of the year right now and they’re on the verge of making some special history.
Is there a team in the bigs hotter than the Atlanta Braves right now? The club is 9-1 in its last 10 games and they’re now 5.5 games ahead of the Phillies in the NL East standings. Yup, Atlanta has simply been on a tear of late.
Perhaps even more impressive, though, is that the Braves simply can’t lose on the road. Following the victory over the Orioles on Sunday, Atlanta has now won 13 consecutive road contests. They’re now two road wins away from tying the MLB record. The pressure is on.
Braves: Atlanta could make MLB history by the end of the month
The Dodgers set the record for 15 straight road wins back in 2013. Interestingly enough, Atlanta’s next two road games will be against LA on Aug. 30 and Aug. 31. So, if the Braves are to win those games, they could then break the record with a victory in the series finale on Sept. 1.
This is only going to make the showdown between the two NL powerhouses even more exciting. While Atlanta struggled a little bit early on in the season, the club has really turned things around and they’ve been looking great.
As things stand, the Braves look poised to go on a deep postseason run. That will happen when you have so much depth and talent on the hill and at the plate. With the NL East title on their minds too, this could prove to be an exciting next month for Atlanta baseball.
Fans are fired up about how this team is performing and rightfully so. Even better days could be on the way as well.
