By John Buhler
With the 2021 college football season right around the corner, let’s turn our attention to who makes up this year’s preseason All-American team.
While this is sure to be wrong by the time the holiday season gets here, we should expect a handful of these college standouts from the 2020 campaign to be taking home some hardware and top honors once the 2021 season runs its course. Though we cannot be sure who the best players in the sport will be this year, look for these college stars to shine for their teams in 2021.
Here is FanSided‘s college football preseason All-American team for the 2021 season.

With so many great returning quarterbacks to choose from, we are going to go with the guy most likely to win the Heisman Trophy, lead his team to the College Football Playoff and be the No. 1 overall pick by the Houston Texans in the 2021 NFL Draft: Spencer Rattler of the Oklahoma Sooners. While it was close, Rattler earns the top spot because he plays quarterback at Oklahoma.
When it comes to who Rattler will sling the ball around to on this first-team offense, he has Ohio State’s Chris Olave and Clemson’s Justyn Ross as his two wide receivers. Iowa State standout Charlie Kolar is the first-team tight end. Since he needs a pair of excellent running backs, the two first-team preseason nods go to Breece Hall out of Iowa State and Bijan Robinson out of Texas.
Keeping Rattler upright includes a cast of who’s who in the trenches. Snapping him the ball will be Tyler Linderbaum out of Iowa. The four other outstanding offensive linemen who will comprise this year’s preseason front-five are Evan Neal out of Alabama, Cain Madden now with Notre Dame, Kenyon Green with Texas A&M and Darrian Kinnard out of Kentucky. It is mostly SEC.
Let’s take a look at who makes up preseason First-Team All-Defense and Special Teams units.
