Braves, MLB Twitter blast umpire for botched Freddie Freeman call.

If you know anything about baseball you know how insane the Freddie Freeman call was and we agree. Check out the moment in the clip below and decide for yourself.

You can clearly see the Atlanta Braves first baseman is safe at home but is called out and then shockingly upheld in review. Yeah, terrible. The throw from Andrew Velazquez to Gary Sánchez allows the New York Yankees to keep a 4-3 lead and Twitter was not happy about it.

If Freeman was called safe, it could have seriously altered the game.

In the top of the seventh inning, the Yankees extended their lead to 5-3 following a solo home run by infielder Rougned Odor. Then in the bottom of the ninth, Jorge Soler forced a six pitch walk from Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman to score Adam Duvall, cutting their deficit to 5-4.

Again, if Freeman were called safe, Duvall’s score could have been the game-tying run, forcing the game into extra innings. Instead, the Braves lost after Freeman flew out to left field to end the contest.

The Braves will like to move on and forget about this game. They have the chance to do so on Friday when they play the National League-leading San Francisco Giants.
