Joey Votto got the ultimate revenge on a heckling Brewers fan
By Mark Powell
Joey Votto taught a heckling Brewers fan the hard way that what goes around, comes around.
Votto is among the best smack-talkers in all of baseball, and better personalities at that. Were he in a larger market than Cincinnati, perhaps more fans would understand this.
Nonetheless, with the Reds in prime position to make the postseason as a Wild Card team, they face a tough test on the road in Milwaukee on Tuesday night. With the game tied at one run apiece, Votto did what he does best and raised his on-base percentage.
Prior to the AB, one heckling Brewers fan got his attention. Votto would come around to score a run, giving the Reds the lead, and the last laugh (for now) at the same time.
Cincinnati Reds holding out hope for an NL Central push
With games against the Brewers still on the schedule, the Reds remain hopeful that they can make a run at the Central crown. As of this writing, they’re 7.5 games behind. While not insurmountable, overcoming such a deficit won’t be easy.
As baseball fans, we all remember our firsts. Whether it’s the first game we attended, the first jersey we purchased or our team’s first World Series win. This summer, Woodbridge Wines, FanSided and some of your favorite baseball stars want to help you celebrate your baseball fan firsts.
