2. Dennis Schroder loses the ball and his dignity

Kyrie is a master of misdirection and this magic is at its most sparkling when he forces a defender to guard a ghost, to pivot their attention to a phantom, the place where they think the ball or Kyrie will be. But all they find is empty space.

Here, Dennis Schroder and the Hawks try to ice a pick-and-roll with Al Horford, sending Kyrie baseline. He happily obliges but freezes both John Collins and Schroder by dribbling backward through his own legs. As Kyrie picks up the ball Schroder seems to completely lose his sense of time and space and simply turns his back to Kyrie to spring back to the safe zone of Horford at the 3-point line.
