New York Mets shortstop Javy Baez committed an embarrassing base-running error against the Giants, setting fans against him.
Javy Baez is really good at plenty of things. Running the bases intelligently is not one of them.
On Wednesday against the Giants, he royally blew it in the second inning when he took off running for third base, apparently forgetting that you can’t advance on a fly out.
San Francisco turned a double play thanks to his boneheaded play.
For all the swag Javier Baez has, he might have the worse baseball IQ in the league. Turn on ESPN right now and you’ll see little leaguers that know better #ResilientSF #LGM pic.twitter.com/iSGCbMgCHj

Javy Baez’s base-running left Mets fans shaking their heads
Mets fans were not happy with his decision-making.
Javier Baez has now been picked off on a liner and lined into a double play. Not even two weeks worth of games and he's a full-blown Met.

So far this game is the story of the #Mets trade deadline blunders. Javy Báez gets doubled off second with 2 on and no outs on a Little League base running mistake. An inning later Kris Bryant gives the Giants the lead with a HR. #LGM #Mets

Yea so I can’t do the Javy Baez thing anymore. When he’s great, he’s great. But at a point it’s just bad baseball and I don’t want to watch it for the next 5+ years.

The good thing for Baez is he genuinely is good at other aspects of his job. Making a sliding behind the back catch? Easy peasy.
WOW what a catch! 🙌 @javy23baez pic.twitter.com/OvvLklOoMB

When it comes to Baez, you’ve got to take the good with the bad.
