The Kansas City Chiefs finished off a perfect preseason on Friday night with a 28-25 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Now, they must set their 53-man roster.

Who will play for the two-time AFC defending champions this year?

We’ll soon find out, with the NFL mandating all 32 clubs to cut their rosters to 53 players come Tuesday afternoon. For the Kansas City Chiefs, it won’t be easy getting to that number, with ample youngsters and veterans having earned a shot.

So how will it shake out? Here’s our best guess.

Kansas City Chiefs projected 53-man roster

QB: Patrick Mahomes, Chad Henne (2)

RB: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon, Darrel Williams (3)

FB: Michael Burton (1)

WR: Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson, Byron Pringle, Daurice Fountain, Marcus Kemp (6)

TE: Travis Kelce, Blake Bell, Noah Gray, Jody Fortson (4)

OL: Orlando Brown Jr., Joe Thuney, Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith, Lucas Niang, Mike Remmers, Austin Blythe, Kyle Long, Andrew Wylie (9)

DL: Frank Clark, Chris Jones, Derrick Nnadi, Jarran Reed, Kahlen Saunders, Tershawn Wharton, Tim Ward, Alex Okafor, Mike Danna, Joshua Kindoah (10)

LB: Anthony Hitchens, Ben Niemann, Willie Gay, Nick Bolton, Dorian O’Daniel (5)

CB: L’Jarius Sneed, Rashad Fenton, Charvarius Ward, Mike Hughes, DeAndre Baker, BoPete Keyes (6)

S: Tyrann Mathieu, Juan Thornhill, Dan Sorensen, Armani Watts (4)

K: Harrison Butker (1)

P: Tommy Townsend (1)

LS: James Winchester (1)

How accurate is this? We can revisit Tuesday night when the league has every roster set. For now, it appears about a half-dozen spots are up for grabs in Kansas City.
