LAFC winger Brian Rodriguez single-handedly made the LA Galaxy defense look silly with an incredible goal in El Tráfico.

Brian Rodriguez has no mercy. Especially not towards LAFC rival LA Galaxy.

During the El Tráfico meeting between Los Angeles’ two MLS teams, Rodriquez plunged a sword into the heart of the Galaxy defense and twisted it with an utterly magical goal.

Here’s another look with an even better view of that gorgeous finish.

Four Galaxy defenders had a chance to break up that attack and Rodriguez made jokes of each of them before beating the keeper at an impossible angle. He cut left, then right, then left, then right again before the killing blow.

You won’t see a better individual effort for a goal in MLS this season.

Brian Rodriguez’s ridiculous goal highlighted an entertaining El Tráfico

Rodriguez’s goal set off a wild eight-minute stretch. Dejan Joveljić produced an almost immediate response with a goal in the 64th minute to tie the game at 2-2.

Rodriguez didn’t like that. He didn’t like it one bit, so he found the goal again in the 66th minute to restore his hardwon lead.

It wasn’t nearly as pretty as his first, but it did the job all the same, putting LAFC back in front 3-2.

Joveljić gave the Galaxy a lead in the first half with a goal in the 20th minute. Cristian Arango answered with a penalty just before halftime.

The two goals from Rodriguez matched his total from last season in 18 starts for LAFC. They were his first of the season in the 21-year-old’s fifth start of the campaign.

It hasn’t been a particularly hot stretch for Bob Bradley’s squad. They haven’t won since July 17 and have lost all four of their matches in August so far. A win over the Galaxy would be a special way to end that stretch. They lost to their rivals 2-1 in their first meeting in May.
