Ohio State: Quinn Ewers signs NIL deal with Ohio car dealership (Photo)

Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Quinn Ewers received an NIL sponsorship deal with a local car dealership, which got him a brand new truck.

This year, the NCAA allowed college athletes to pursue name, image and likeness (NIL) deals depending on which states that permit it. Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Quinn Ewers signed his first NIL deal with Holy Kombucha, a Texas-based drink company, earlier this month. Now, he has agreed to terms on another NIL partnership.

Ewers has signed an endorsement deal with Ricart Automotive, a car dealership in Columbus, Ohio, where he will be provided with a 2020 Ford F250 Super Duty and Super Charged truck. For every mile that Ewers drives, Ricart Automotive will donate $1 to A Kid Again Central Ohio, a nonprofit organization “dedicated to providing hope, happiness and healing for families raising children who are living with a life-threatening condition in Columbus, Ohio.”

“I was a Ford F-250 driver back in Texas, so I am pumped to have this customized Ricart to get around in during my time in Columbus,” said Ewers in the press release. “More than that, I’m proud to partner with Ricart on giving back to the local community and raising awareness of A Kid Again.“

“We are so excited to work with Quinn,” said Rick Ricart, president of Ricart Automotive and Board Chair of A Kid Again. “He is an exceptional person and athlete, and we are looking forward to supporting him as he begins his career in Columbus. This partnership is going to be fun and exciting for both Ricart and Quinn, and we are proud to partner with him on giving back to our Buckeye community and supporting A Kid Again.”

The F250 Super Duty and Super Charged truck was provided by Rabid Customs, a high performance and custom vehicle shop in Columbus.

Ewers originally committed to the Texas Longhorns, but decommitted this past October. He later announced that he would forego his senior year of high school to play for Ohio State. Freshman C.J. Stroud was named the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes’ season-opening game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

This past season with Southlake Carroll High School, Ewers completed 66.0-percent of his passes for 2,442 yards, 28 touchdowns and five interceptions through eight games. The year prior, Ewers threw for 4,003 yards, 45 touchdowns and three interceptions through 14 games in his sophomore season. All stats are provided by MaxPreps.
