Green Bay Packers legend Donald Driver tweeted, then deleted that the team was signing Donald Driver.

Is a veteran playmaker about to join the Green Bay Packers offense to help out Aaron Rodgers? If you asked team legend Donald Driver, that appeared to be the case. On Sunday, Driver took to his Instagram to share the news that Green Bay will be signing the one and only Dez Bryant.

What in the world? The news of Bryant potentially joining the Packers hasn’t been reported anywhere else. So, does Driver have quite the scoop ahead of the regular season getting underway or is this fake news?

Donald Driver posted, then deleted his Dez Bryant story

Driver ended up taking down that IG story, which only adds even more confusion here. Will Bryant be catching balls from Rodgers or not? If Bryant were to make his way back to Lambeau Field, it sure would be something.

The post did come from Driver’s account, as it’s the same username. Instagram stories don’t reveal the verified checkmark an account may have. However, it has since been deleted and/or disappeared after 24 hours.

No one has forgotten about the controversial catch that got overturned in the playoff game between Dallas and Green Bay back in 2014. On fourth-and-2, Tony Romo threw a deep ball for Bryant and he made a miraculous grab at the one yard line, or so we thought. It was ruled incomplete and the Packers went on to win. Unreal.

Now, Driver (we think) is claiming that Bryant will get back to Wisconsin, but this time he’ll be donning a Packers jersey. Best known for his days in Dallas, Bryant had a comeback last season with the Ravens, appearing in six games.

He posted six receptions for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Will he get another chance with Green Bay? We’ll know the answer to that question soon enough.
