With the injury to JK Dobbins, the Baltimore Ravens would be wise in reaching out to free agent running back Todd Gurley.

With Week 1 of the regular season under two weeks away, stud running back Todd Gurley remains a free agent. He’s hoping to find a new home so he can keep his career going, with a new spot just opening up.

Unfortunately for the Baltimore Ravens, young running back J.K. Dobbins suffered a serious knee injury over the weekend and he’s expected to miss the rest of the season. Just brutal news. With that said, could Gurley make his way to the AFC North?

The Ravens previously hosted Todd Gurley for a visit

While Gurley himself has dealt with injury problems of his own in the past, you have to remember that he’s only 27 years old. The former Georgia Bulldog superstar made his way home to the Atlanta Falcons after spending the first five years of his career with the Rams.

Last season for Atlanta, Gurley appeared in 15 games, rushing for 678 yards and nine touchdowns. While with the Rams, he rushed for at least 1,000 yards in three seasons, earning First-Team All-Pro honors twice.

With Baltimore needing some help at running back, getting Gurley back in town for another visit could be in the cards. There are of course some other options that would be intriguing, of course including Adrian Peterson.

Big things were expected of Dobbins this campaign, but this latest injury setback will keep him off the field until 2022. Should Gurley get the call from the Ravens and John Harbaugh, it could potentially open things up a little bit for Lamar Jackson. This will be something to watch over the next week, no doubt.
