The New England Patriots Pro Shop has already sold out of Mac Jones jerseys after Cam Newton was released on Tuesday morning.
In the aftermath of Cam Newton being released by the New England Patriots on Tuesday morning, the Patriots Pro Shop has already sold out of Mac Jones No. 10 jerseys.
New England used the No. 15 overall pick on the Davey O’Brien Award-winning quarterback out of Alabama. While Jones was phenomenal last season for the Crimson Tide, many people expected he would back up Newton for the duration of the 2021 NFL season. However, Jones looked strong enough in the preseason for head coach Bill Belichick to hand him over the keys to the offense.
So if you want to keep up with the Joneses and get a Jones jersey from the Patriots Pro Shop, you are going to have to wait a little while.

There is no denying it at this point. We are fully into the Jones era of Patriots football. By cutting ties with Newton, it is full steam ahead with Jones under center. Will he have his rookie growing pains? Oh, absolutely, but he does possess many of the winning traits we saw out of Tom Brady for years in New England. Fortunately, Jones does not have to be Brady, he only has to be himself.
If all goes well for the Patriots, Jones can quarterback New England to one of three wild card berths in the AFC. New England may not have enough upward trajectory to catch the juggernaut Buffalo Bills atop the AFC East, but they can be a top-seven team in the conference, no doubt. 2021 is all about the Patriots growing and evolving with Jones as the new face of the franchise.
Maybe in a few weeks you can purchase yourself a sweet No. 10 Jones jersey from the Pro Shop?
