Clemson football is getting ready for the biggest game of college footballās opening weekend, so you canāt blame fans for freaking out over internet rumors concerning three key players.
On Wednesday, Twitter was abuzz with the possibility of star wide receiver Justyn Ross, All-ACC defensive lineman Tyler Davis and team captain Nolan Turner missing the Georgia game on Saturday.
Dabo Swinney addressed Clemson injuries today
Head coach Dabo Swinney was asked specifically about the rumor that Davis is COVID-19 positive. His answer wonāt ease the minds of Clemson fans.
āWeāre not going to confirm anything other than Saturday. Weāll let everybody know who is available and whoās not,ā per Jon Blau of The Post and Courier.
Last season, Swinney had a policy of not revealed who could be out with COVID-19 until game day. That means Davisā status, and anyone else contact traced, will remain unknown.

Swinneyās comments on Ross will inspire much more confidence.

Ross missed all of the 2020 season while recovering from a potentially career-ending neck and spine condition. He had surgery to fix the problem and started a long road back to the football field. Everyone in the college football world should be glad to have him suiting up this fall.
We wonāt know for sure if Davis, Turner and Ross will play against Georgia until they take the field. Until then, itās a waiting game.
