Steve Cohen may have had a part in New York Mets general manager Zack Scott’s DUI arrest.

On today’s episode of the New York Mets being nothing short of a complete and utter embarrassment, not only was their general manager Zack Scott arrested for a DUI on Tuesday morning, but he was at new owner Steve Cohen’s house in Connecticut the night it happened.

We could not even get 48 hours removed from the Thumbs Down Mets being a national catastrophe and then this happens. At this time, you can change owners, you can change front office personnel, you can even swap out the entire roster, but at your core, this is why you will always be the Mets. They have become a complete tire fire in a matter of weeks. Unbelievable.

And to think this team had a four-game lead in the NL East divisional race only a few weeks ago…

Look. Scott is a grown-ass adult and should know by now if he should get behind the wheel of a car or not. Just because you make seven-figures does not mean you are above the law. While we do not know how much interaction Scott had with Cohen at Cohen’s residence on Tuesday night, somebody had to have known he had too much to drink last night. This is totally unacceptable.

For a professional baseball organization, they cannot even go one day without having another PR nightmare. When it rains it pours, but freaking chill out and stop being the ever-present lightning rod of controversy you are to the national media every single day. The Mets may be covered differently in the nation’s biggest city, but nobody will help you when you will not help yourself.

The Thumbs Down Mets are truly amazing for all the wrong reasons, and we are not shocked.
