The Virginia Tech Hokies sure hope it is with a 14-0 lead over No. 10 North Carolina in Blacksburg.
The Tar Heels are a six-point favorite over their ACC opposition, so this one is quite the surprise. Then again, maybe we all should have expected this with a raucous crowd egging on the Hokies.
North Carolina on upset alert vs. Virginia Tech
Braxton Burmeister is running the show for Virginia Tech. He put his team on the board with a four-yard run in the first quarter. He added to the lead with an 11-yard touchdown pass in the second.
Meanwhile, Virginia Tech has kept Sam Howell bottled up. The Heisman candidate was 4-of-8 for 59 yards in the first half. He’ll need to do a lot better to get the Tar Heels back in it.
