Paul Sewald has completely dominated Carlos Correa over the last two weeks.

Seattle Mariners relief pitcher Paul Sewald has made Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa look foolish three times over the last 11 days at critical times.

Sewald’s Mariners just took two of three from Houston and have won three of their last four vs. the division rival. While Houston is still in control of the AL West standings, the Mariners are only 6.5 games back of the Astros at 72-62 on the season. They remain within in striking distance of the AL West crown, as well as the two available AL Wild Card spots for this upcoming postseason.

Check out these three filthy pitches that Sewald has been able to punch out Correa in big spots.

Paul Sewald continues to own Carlos Correa in their head-to-head matchups

After four nondescript years with the New York Mets, Sewald is flourishing in his first season in the Pacific Northwest. He is 9-3 on the year in 46 appearances with a 2.45 ERA and a 0.944 WHIP in his career year out of the University of San Diego. Sewald has 79 strikeouts to only 13 walks in 47.2 innings pitched for the Mariners. He has been a big reason the Mariners will not go away.

If Sewald keeps pitching like this against Correa and the Astros, Seattle may make the postseason.
