Pirates suffer most embarrassing walk-off of the season (Video)

The Pittsburgh Pirates suffered the worst walk-off loss imaginable on Thursday night against the Chicago Cubs.
The season can not end quick enough for the Pittsburgh Pirates. They are already eliminated from postseason contention, and had some embarrassing moments throughout the season, like the infamous comedy of errors against the Chicago Cubs back in May.
On Thursday night, the Pirates’ bad luck against the Cubs continued. With the game tied at five runs apiece in the bottom of the 11th inning, outfielder Ian Happ hit a routine pop up that would have forced an easy out. However, second baseman Wilmer Difo misplayed the pop up and dropped the ball, allowing Sergio Alcantara to easily score from third to clinch the win for the Cubs.

What a crushing way to lose. If we are going to be real here, this is probably not the lowlight of Pittsburgh’s season. That distinction belongs to the blunder by Will Craig that allowed Javy Baez to reach second base on what should have been an easy ground out to first.
Pirates fans, just a reminder that there are only 28 games remaining this season, including Friday’s afternoon game against the Cubs.
