Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney updated the status of wide receiver Justyn Ross for Saturday’s game against the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Clemson Tigers kick off their 2021 season against a formidable foe in the Georgia Bulldogs in a battle of two top-five teams in the AP rankings. Less than 24 hours before kickoff, a rumor began spreading on a UGA fan message board that Ross would not be playing due to a broken foot. those rumors were since debunked, but we now have further confirmation just hours before kickoff.

Head coach Dabo Swinney laid that rumor to rest, six feet in the ground, saying on College Gameday that Ross will be playing on Saturday night.

Justyn Ross set to make return to the field for first time in over a year

This will be the first time that Ross suits up for the Tigers since the CFP National Championship against LSU. Ross sat out for the entirety of the 2020 campaign due to a spinal cord injury.

In his sophomore season with Clemson, Ross recorded 66 receptions for 865 yards and eight touchdowns through 14 games.

Ross will be good to go for the season-opener, which will no doubt make Clemson fans feel good in the hours leading up to the game.
