In arguably the most exciting game of week one, the Clemson Tigers will meet up with the Georgia Bulldogs in Charlotte, North Carolina.
There’s a very real chance that one of the earliest games of the 2021 college football season will feature two Heisman candidates and two College Football Playoff teams. The Clemson Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs are facing off in Charlotte, North Carolina to get the season started off.
Georgia quarterback JT Daniels didn’t play through the entirety of last season, but he did get the chance to show that he can thrive in the Bulldogs’ offense. Todd Monken, whose offenses always seem to be explosive, was able to take Daniels, who transferred from USC, and put him in position to succeed. In four games, Daniels completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 1,231 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei also had a fun season last year in limited playing time. Uiagalelei, who backed up Trevor Lawrence, played in nine games last season. He didn’t start in all of those contests and he only threw the ball 117 times, but he completed 66.7 percent of his passes for 914 yards and five touchdowns. Uiagalelei also proved to be a tough guy to tackle, which isn’t shocking considering he’s 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds and he added another four touchdowns on the ground.
