Oregon football star Kayvon Thibodeaux suffered an injury in the season opener vs. Fresno State.
Kayvon Thibodeaux made his presence felt early in the Oregon game vs. Fresno State to show why many believe heās the best player in college and future potential No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
However, the Oregon football star suffered a lower-leg injury and was removed from the game.
Thibodeaux didnāt come out of the locker room with Oregon after halftime and there was no word as to his absence. It was unclear when exactly he was hurt or what the issue was that prevented him from taking the field.
It wasnāt until Fresno State tied the game at 21 that Thibodeaux emerged from the locker, but he was in street clothes and in a walking boot.
Kayvon Thibodeaux suffers injury in Oregon football season opener
Itās unclear when or on what play Thibodeaux suffered the apparent ankle injury. What is clear is he is out for the remainder of this game and his status for next weekās showdown with Ohio State is in doubt.
If Oregon doesnāt have Thibodeaux for the game vs. the Buckeyes, it greatly reduces their chances of pulling off the upset.
Oregon fans will be hoping this is not as severe as it seems and he can return next week vs. Ohio State.
Thibodeaux returning to the sidelines would seem to indicate that itās not a season-ending type of injury or an injury that would require him to leave for an MRI or x-ray at a local hospital. Perhaps itās just a sprained ankle, but more information will be known about Thibodeauxās injury and return in the coming days.
