The Oklahoma Sooners and the Tulane Green Wave are set to face off in Norman, Oklahoma.
Spencer Rattler is primed to get his Heisman Trophy campaign underway as the Oklahoma Sooners will welcome the Tulane Green Wave to town. Rattler, one of the best quarterbacks in the country, will have the opportunity to put on a show with a national audience as the game will be broadcast on ABC.
All things considered, it’s somewhat shocking that this game is actually being played. The Green Wave and the Sooners were originally set to face off at Tulane in New Orleans, but Hurricane Ida forced the two teams to scrap those plans.
But they were able to get things relocated, rescheduled, and moved over to Norman. It’s obviously not ideal, but the Sooners and the Green Wave will still get to play this weekend.

Alongside Ratter’s Heisman campaign, the Sooners are also looking to get a national title campaign started off. Oklahoma should once again boast one of the best offenses in the country, but the Sooners also have a shot at having one of the best defenses in the Big 12.
If the Sooners can be balanced and thrive on both sides of the ball, there is a very real chance that this team will find itself in the College Football Playoffs once more. Tulane likely isn’t the sort of foe that will be a good measuring stick for a team as talented as Oklahoma, but it’ll be intriguing to see just how good the Sooners look this early on in the season.
