Spencer Rattler is the preseason Heisman favorite but his Heisman campaign got off to a weird start vs. Tulane.

Expectations are high for Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler but his second pass of the season is not a harbinger of things to come, Sooners are hoping.

Rattler is the Heisman favorite entering the year but his second pass of the year went to the wrong team. Rattler was intercepted by Tulane and his Heisman chances are now dead.

Spencer Rattler gets off to rough start for Oklahoma

Okay, that’s a gross Week 1 overreaction, but it’s not the best start for Rattler who had bouts of inconsistency and lapses in decision-making in his first year as a starter last season.

This isn’t the most encouraging sign for Lincoln Riley and Oklahoma football fans, but let’s be real, the season is early. Like, it was the second pass of the season type of early.

Rattler will be fine, but credit Tulane for playing well early after this game was moved from New Orleans to Norman due to the damage caused by Hurricane Ida last week.
