Wisconsin football will be without starting inside linebacker Leo Chenal for two games after he tested positive for COVID-19.

Going into a big conference matchup with Penn State, Wisconsin football’s defense will be down a man.

Starting linebacker Leo Chenal, who led the team with three sacks last season, will miss the game against the Nittany Lions and more.

ā€œTo all my friends and family, I have tested positive for Covid and will miss the next 2 games. That aside, I am excited to see the boys kill it today!ā€ Chanel wrote on Instagram.

It’s not known if Chenal is vaccinated. Wisconsin reporter Jeff Ptrykus tweeted he declined to comment on the matter at Big Ten media day.

In addition to the Penn State game, Chenal is planning to miss the Week 2 meeting with Eastern Michigan on Sept. 11.
