49ers are signing veteran cornerback Josh Norman
The San Francisco 49ers are hoping to shore up up their secondary depth by signing veteran cornerback Josh Norman as a free agent.
Josh Norman is now off the free agent market.
The 33-year-old cornerback agreed to terms with the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, according to Jay Glazer on Twitter.
Josh Norman contract: 49ers get low-risk addition
Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network reported he will earn up to $2.5 million on his new deal, which comes with “base value above the minimum.”
San Francisco is likely to value Norman as depth behind starting cornerback Jason Verrett and Emmanuel Moseley.
Even though he will turn 34 by the end of the season, Norman will give them a veteran option at a relatively low cost. It seems worth a chance for him to make his mark.
Norman spent the 2020 season with the Bills and started three games, making nine appearances. He had one interception for a touchdown and 24 total tackles.
