Florida State football honored late Seminole head coach Bobby Bowden with decals on the field for their game against Notre Dame.

Legendary Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden died over the summer, so the start of the 2021 season was a clear opportunity to honor him at Doak Walker Stadium.

The Seminoles did just that with a decal gracing their field and other parts of the stadium featuring Bowden’s iconic hat.

He retired after the 2009 season with 304 wins on his record at FSU. Before joining the Seminoles he won 42 games as the head coach of West Virginia.

The College Football Hall of Fame inducted Bowden into their ranks in 2006.

Sadly, Bowden was diagnosed with cancer in July. He died on Aug. 8 at the age of 91.
