Former heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield returns to the boxing ring against former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort.

A lot is going on with the Saturday, Sept. 11 Triller Fight Club boxing card. Former heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield will fight former MMA champion Vitor Belfort in a professional boxing match.

This main event was hastily put together after Oscar De La Hoya was hospitalized with COVID-19. De La Hoya was supposed to make his boxing return against Belfort but had to withdraw due to his illness.

Holyfield has been waiting to fight for Triller Fight Club for a while and now gets his chance. Holyfield is 58 years old and fought his final professional bout in 2011. Ten years later, he’s getting ready to lace up the gloves again.

If seeing Holyfield return to boxing isn’t odd enough, there’s more eclectic matchmaking on the card featuring Anderson Silva, Tito Ortiz, and David Haye. There are lots of former combat sports champions looking for one more shot at glory.

Where and when

The Triller Fight Club Holyfield vs. Belfort fight card takes place on Saturday, Sept. 11, from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL.

Originally, De La Hoya was supposed to fight Belfort at the Staples Center in L.A., but once Holyfield replaced De La Hoya, the fight was moved because the California State Athletic Commission wouldn’t approve Holyfield to fight Belfort.
