Quarterback – Baker Mayfield $7,100

There are so many intriguing options when it comes to Week 1 quarterbacks. The very best in the league usually don’t get to crazy prices until later in September. For example, Patrick Mahomes is sitting at $8,800 against the Cleveland Browns. That’s a great price for clearly the best player in the league. He’s usually over $9,000.

Still, there are better deals to be had at a position where many players are going to perform in silly numbers. How about the player who is on the other side of Mahomes? Baker Mayfield is looking to prove himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the league in a year where he’s trying to earn a nine-figure contract. Playing well in the game against the defending AFC Champions will likely bring the Browns owners to the table with a contract offer immediately.

Mayfield has his entire arsenal of wide receivers available to him. Odell Beckham has fallen under the radar, which is exactly where he should be after a tumultuous start to his Browns career. Jarvis Landry is still very serviceable in his role. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt can make people miss out of the backfield and catch the ball when needed.

Mayfield is poised to have a huge day even against a really good Chiefs defense. The Browns can’t rely on their running game when Mahomes is going to put a ton of points on them. Mayfield will need to keep up, and that will lead to a ton of fantasy points.
