San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. easily threw out Los Angeles Angels first baseman Jared Walsh as he tried to tag home.
If you’re thinking about running on Fernando Tatis Jr., don’t. It’s not worth it.
Angels first baseman Jared Walsh figured that out too late on Wednesday as he tagged up and tried to make his way home in the second inning.

Here’s a closer view of that throw.

Fernando Tatis Jr. has an absolute rocket of an arm
Max Stassi flied out into shallow right and Tatis Jr. showed no mercy to Walsh, slinging the ball straight to home plate with the cannon he calls an arm. Walsh had no chance. He shouldn’t have even tried. If he hadn’t, the Angels would have had men on first and third with two outs in the inning. Instead, it turned into a double play for San Diego.
Tatis Jr. insists his time in the outfield is temporary, preferring to play in the infield, but with an arm like that, he definitely brings value to the Padres outfield.
