5 players the Seahawks need to play well to beat Colts
Remember how a defense headed for last place in passing yards in NFL history made a 6-2 bounceback in the back half of the season?
Cornerback DJ Reed had a little something with that.
Plucked off of waivers mid-season, the former 49er swooped into Tre Flowers’ cornerback slot following an injury and gave the Seahawks secondary the boost they needed to shut down the passing game.
In just eight games, Reed logged 62 tackles, two interceptions and seven passes defended, drastically shifting the tide of a team that was losing steam on offense.
The starting left corner/punt returner will square up against the Colts’ top receiver in the absence of T.Y. Hilton, sophomore wideout Michael Pittman Jr. If Reed can win his battles against the skilled route-runner, he can help bring home the win.
