The Georgia football team is working to figure out if JT Daniels will miss the Bulldogs’ game against UAB due to injury.

Few things are worse in sports than an injury. Unfortunately for JT Daniels and the Georgia Bulldogs, the Georgia football team might be missing the leader of its offense when the Bulldogs face the UAB Blazers. Daniels has reportedly suffered an injury that could potentially sideline him in UGA’s next game.

According to a tweet from ESPN’s Brandon Zimmerman, Robert Griffin III told Paul Finebaum that Daniels is dealing with an oblique injury.

Griffin mentioned that the injury could lead to a situation where Daniels doesn’t play in this game and that Carson Beck could be Georgia’s starting quarterback. Beck is talented, as he was formerly ranked as a four-star prospect according to 247Sports, but he’s inexperienced. Georgia would certainly benefit from having Daniels healthy and able to play.

Georgia football: Will quarterback JT Daniels miss the UAB game?

It’s not clear at the moment just how much this injury will harm Daniels’ chances of playing against UAB. It’s also not clear just yet about the overall scope of this issue and if it could last longer than just this week.

For Daniels’ sake, hopefully this is just something minor that he’s able to bounce back from.

From a football impact perspective, Georgia is definitely better when Daniels is healthy and good to go. We saw that a season ago when he was able to light up defenses and the Bulldogs won a Sugar Bowl. Still, the Bulldogs should be able to handle UAB with or without him.
