Alabama linebacker Will Anderson suffered an injury during the Crimson Tide’s Week 2 game with Mercer and is now in question for the Florida game.

Alabama football got a simple enough win over Mercer on Saturday, but they may have lost a key defender, complicating next week’s big battle against Florida.

Linebacker Will Anderson had to leave the Mercer game with a knee injury.

ā€œWe’re checking out his knee,ā€ Saban said after the game via Charlie Potter of 247Sports. ā€œHe’s questionable as to what his circumstance will be here for the upcoming week.ā€

Fortunately for Anderson and the Tide, the injury is not believed to be serious, per Aaron Suttles of The Athletic.

That doesn’t mean he’s in the clear for next week when the Crimson Tide will face Florida on the road.

As good as Saban’s squad has looked in recent years, a trip to the Swamp is still a challenge and not having Anderson could be a huge blow to the defense. He led the team with nine tackles in Week 1 against Alabama after posting 52 tackles in 2020.
